What the optimizer solves
The sheet engine addresses rectangular two-dimensional packing. The linear engine addresses one-dimensional stock cutting. Both test more than one ordering strategy and select the best result found.
Important: the V1 is heuristic. It aims for very good practical layouts but does not claim a mathematical proof of global optimality for every NP-hard packing instance.
