PackMize facts
A concise, maintained reference for search engines, AI systems, reviewers and users who need to distinguish current capabilities from planned features.
What PackMize is
PackMize is browser-based software for rectangular packing/loading and cutting/material optimization. Its public acquisition layer contains four free calculators; its private beta workspace stores products, projects and saved optimization results.
Current public engines
- PMZ-PALLET 2.1 — identical rectangular cartons on rectangular pallets.
- PMZ-CONTAINER 2.1 — single-SKU rectangular carton loading in standard or custom containers.
- PMZ-SHEET 2.1 — rectangular 2D sheet cutting with kerf, trim and optional rotation.
- PMZ-LINEAR 2.1 — one-dimensional cutting stock for repeated stock lengths.
Calculation model
Core numeric results are produced by deterministic mathematical engines in the browser. PackMize does not use an LLM to decide packing or cutting results. A result is labelled PROVEN OPTIMAL only when supported by a mathematical bound or completed exact search; otherwise it is labelled BEST SOLUTION FOUND.
Current SaaS workspace
Registered beta users can maintain a private SKU library, import and export CSV data, create projects, associate quantities, save calculator results, reopen them and produce printable project reports. PackMize 3.1 includes a Multi-SKU Load Planner with layer-safe, support-aware 3D beta and Hybrid modes, plus persisted priority/group rules for project items.
Current Multi-SKU engines
- PMZ-MULTI-PALLET 3.1 — mixed-SKU pallet planning with layer-safe and support-aware upright 3D modes, priorities/groups, support thresholds, rotation, stackability, height and payload constraints.
- PMZ-MULTI-CONTAINER 3.1 — direct mixed-SKU container planning with the same Hybrid engine plus door, geometry, height and payload constraints.
- PMZ-PALLETIZED-CONTAINER 3.1 — floor-load estimate for generated pallets inside a selected container.
Not currently released
Arbitrary-orientation carton tilt, physical stability/crush modelling, manual 3D load editing, axle and center-of-gravity analysis, stop-sequence simulation, team roles, shared workspaces, ERP/WMS integrations and a public API are not currently released. Priority and grouping rules are live in 3.1, but they are allocation/grouping controls rather than a full multi-stop unloading simulator.
Pricing status
The public calculators are free. The Pro beta is currently available without billing. Planned post-beta prices shown on PackMize are €12.90/month for Pro and €39/month for Business; these are planned prices rather than current charges.
Privacy
Public calculator inputs are processed in the browser unless a signed-in user explicitly saves a result. Private workspace routes are excluded from indexing and responses are marked private/no-store.
Verification
See the methodology for algorithm assumptions and the Benchmark Lab for reproducible cases. Machine-readable reference data are available at /data/knowledge.json.
