Pallet stacking patterns for rectangular boxes
The best pallet pattern is not always a simple grid. Rotating some cartons can fill otherwise unusable strips and increase cases per layer.
Aligned column pattern
All cartons use the same orientation. It is simple to execute and can provide strong vertical alignment, but it may waste footprint area.
Rotated grid
All cartons are turned 90° in the layer. This can materially improve fit when carton dimensions interact differently with pallet length and width.
Mixed rectangular patterns
A layer can combine orientations in stripes or subregions. This is useful when a pure grid leaves a strip wide enough for rotated cartons.
Pattern count is not the only decision
A higher cases-per-layer result can be unsuitable if stability, labels, crush strength, robotic handling or downstream depalletization require a different pattern. PackMize optimizes geometry within the stated model and leaves operational constraints to the user.
